Senior Portal named one of the “Best Entrepreneurial Companies in America” by Entrepreneur magazine

Senior Portal has been named one of the “Best Entrepreneurial Companies in America” by Entrepreneur magazine’s Entrepreneur 360™ List, the only list that measures privately-held company performance across multiple dimensions—not just revenue.  Senior Portal has been recognized for mastering the art and science of growing a business.

Honorees were identified based on the results from a comprehensive study of independently owned companies, using a proprietary algorithm that factors in their ability to expertly balance impact, innovation, growth, leadership and value.

“Our annual evaluation of vetted data offers a 360-degree analysis of top privately-held companies across a multitude of industries,” explains Jason Feifer, editor in chief of Entrepreneur. “They are deemed successful not only by revenue numbers, but by how well-rounded they are. The companies that make the list have pushed boundaries with their innovative ideas, fostered strong company cultures, impacted their communities for the better, and increased their brand awareness.”

Senior Portal went to market in 2015 after recognizing a need in the senior living industry.  The demands of a growing population of tech-savvy seniors were steadily increasing, yet Life Plan Communities had limited technology to support residents.  In order to bridge this gap, Senior Portal drew upon its expertise in both computer science and gerontology to develop a solution.

It quickly became apparent that a customizable platform would be ideal due to the unique characteristics of each community.  Ease-of-use, reliability, security and synchronization were also critical along with exceptional customer service. In addition, emerging technology trends such as voice recognition could be leveraged to ensure that no residents would be left out of the conversation.  The result was a best-in-class resident engagement platform that has since been delighting communities, large and small, single and multi-site, across the country.

Senior Portal is a comprehensive, online, configurable platform for community management that streamlines operations and resident engagement.  It’s a one-stop platform for automated forms, calendars, requests and interaction – a resident-centric system that can be accessed in a variety of ways, including the web, a mobile app, digital signage, in-house TV and interactive, public computer terminals.  It can even be controlled through voice commands due to integration with Amazon’s Alexa.

“I speak on behalf of the entire Senior Portal team when I say we are thrilled to be recognized on the Entrepreneur 360 List,” said Senior Portal Founder Patrick Smith.  “This is quite an honor, and I’m incredibly proud of the company that my team and I have built. We stand in service of our clients, looking to empower them with innovative, customizable technology, and this recognition gives further fuel to our mission.”
